     Schedule & Details

Starting on Friday afternoon, the 26th of August, we plan to have a bar-b-que/cookout potluck followed by an evening of great music and fellowship. Please bring enough hot dogs/hamburgers and buns for your family, all ready for us to grill, as well as a cold side dish or salad, and a dessert. Drinks, condiments, and baked beans will be provided.

After the groups finish playing in the large chapel, there will be an informal jam session. Also, this year we will be taking entries for the Band Scramble after the Friday evening concert-- Band groups will be posted in the Tabernacle at 10:30am Saturday morning, to give the bands more time to practice. All homeschool musicians (grandparents, parents, and kids:o) present, are invited to participate! Anyone wishing to join that was not at the Friday evening concert can get with the Band Scramble coordinator, Lydia Branscum, no later than 1:00pm on Saturday, and they will be added to a Band Scramble band. For the band scramble, musicians will be divided into groups based on their instrument preference by putting their names in one of several cans labeled; "guitar", "mandolin", "violin/fiddle", "bass", & "other" (Please specify which instrument you're playing, in the "other" can) They will then be scrambled to form different bands--the number of bands will be decided based on the number of participants we have. Each band will then decide themselves what songs they wish to play and then practice throughout the day. These music activities are just for fun, not competition, so "jump" right in and enjoy!

On Saturday, the 27th: At 10:45am there will be a family music workshop by the Wissmann family titled "Equipping the Next Generation for Ministry" - There is no fee for participating in this workshop, but there will be a box/can available if you would like to bless the Wissmanns for their labor of love.

Lunch will be at Noon--please bring your own lunch for a big "family picnic". There is a sand volleyball court, basketball, gaga ball, human foosball, horseshoes, and tether ball for those who wish to play. Swimming pool is off limits. You may visit the lake, but boating, swimming, and fishing are prohibited unless arrangements have been made with us first.

We will be having a music/singing/recitation talent show on Saturday afternoon. All homeschoolers are welcome to participate! Please choose only one selection per individual or group. You may register for the talent show as a solo, a duet, or a group-- Also this year we're encouraging anyone wishing to participate in the talent show to sign up early by email--just email us your name and the name of the selection you are doing for the talent show. This will make it easier for us, as we can start making our list even earlier, and filling it in later. If you haven't already signed up by email, please register no later than 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Dress-up time!!! The costume period dress-up: if you're not already "dressed-up", and you are wishing to participate, you may want to before the talent show as we will be taking our "dress-up pictures" immediately following. These don't necessarily need to be historically accurate, just appropriate and considerate as this is a family event. This is not just for the kids, folks!:o)

We are having the Saturday evening meal catered for those who wish to "eat out" at the camp. The menu will consist of a Taco Salad Bar, all you can eat, with cake and ice cream for dessert. We suggest a donation of $6.00 a person with 5 and under being free. All money over cost will go to the music fest. Please RSVP by August 20th as to how many plates you need for your family as we will be needing to turn the number in to our cooks--(You can either email or call us with your reservations--please do not contact the camp with any of your questions or reservations) Thank you! Anyone not wishing to buy the catered meal is welcome to bring your own family's meal and eat on the grounds or in the dining hall at the same time. Also the only kitchen space available for your use will be a refrigerator (limited space), ice machine, and sink. Also microwaves, a toaster and a coffee maker with be available to use in the dining hall.

The evening program will be followed by the band scramble. This part is so much fun...you don't want to miss it!

There is lodging available at the camp. You can check out the facilities at: http://www.campatgalilee.org/facilities.html The fee for overnight guests staying in the cabins without A.C. is $10.00 a night per guest. Little guests, 5 and under are free. These cabins have attic fans to help cool them at night as well as electrical  outlets if you wish to bring your own fans. A.C cabins are available, but limited. The price for some of these is a little higher. Please let me know if you need one of these and I can let you know how much they are. R.V spots are also available and are $20.00 a night. Tent camping is $10.00 a night.

Admission to the music fest is free- donations and love offerings appreciated! If you are staying overnight, please pay for your lodging when you arrive, unless you have pre-registered and paid by mail. We ask that all overnight campers be homeschoolers. Thank you!

The HSMF will not be responsible for the supervision and safety of your little ones and is NOT responsible for any accidents occurring on camp property.

The camp asks that people don't bring any of the following; alcohol, drug, or tobacco products; weapons or knives; pets; or fireworks. They also ask that people somewhat clean up after themselves; they will take our trash out and clean bathrooms and everything but they'd appreciate people picking up after themselves. They also ask that, if possible, people wear close toed shoes because it helps cut back on injuries. On this last one, we are posting it because it's camp rules... so basically if you choose to wear whatever you wish and are injured, they will not be held liable for your injury:o)

Also we do not have a dress code, except to say that we ask that a standard of modesty would be upheld at all times.

Anyone wishing to stay for a Sunday morning worship service at the camp is welcome to do so- we will be having the featured band do the morning service followed by a pot-luck meal. If you plan to be here for the Sunday potluck meal, we're doing a sandwich and salad buffet. Everyone can bring enough bread/rolls/buns for your family, and enough meat & cheese. Or if you'd rather, you could bring tuna or chicken salad instead of meat & cheese. Mayo, mustard, and olive oil will be provided. Also please bring a salad and a dessert of your choice.

May our Heavenly Father be exalted and glorified and all who attend be blessed and encouraged! Hope to see you there!
